SEM Labs first came online in August 2007 as a free SEO tools site. Only two tools were ever released: a multi-national Google, Yahoo, Live, Ask rank checker and an index of domains with PageRank on SEDO (a domain aftermarket). However, due to changes Google made to their search engine in January 2008 it was no longer possible to provide a rank checker and the site became dormant shortly after.
